Did Paris Hilton Sleep Well in Jail?

I guess Paris will be living the real Simple Life after all, at least for three weeks…

Troubled socialite Paris Hilton, after making a surprise visit at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday afternoon, spent the first night of her probation sentence in a Los Angeles County jail cell which will serve as her home for about three weeks.

Since the weekend, the media crowd that waited outsite the jail premises had grown considerably. A member of the media said that people wanting to see Paris Hilton, or a high-profile celebrity for that matter, is really more of a curiosity. They want to see what happens when a famous celebrity breaks the law.

Paris Hilton entered the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood on Sunday around 11:30 p.m. Her sentence requires her to serve 23 days in the county jail for violating her probation after being arrested for drunk driving. If all goes well, Paris could be out partying again by June 26.

At her appearance At the MTV Movie Awards, Hilton told reporters that she’s trying to be strong right now. “I’m ready to face my sentence. Even though this is a really hard time, I have my family, my friends and my fans to support me, and that’s really helpful,” adds the rich and famous hotel heiress.

After turning herself in at the jail facility, Paris Hilton was booked, fingerprinted, photographed, medically screened, and was afterwards given an orange jail suit. Her booking photo showed her with a slight smile, her long blond hair draped over one shoulder.

Like the rest of the inmates, Paris will take her meals in her cell and will only be allowed outside for at least an hour a day to shower, watch tv, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone. Cell phones and Blackberrys are not allowed inside the facility.
